Chief Transformation and Strategy Officer
Rick Hardy is chief transformation and strategy officer of Optum, providing leadership and oversight of Optum enterprise strategy, portfolio management and innovation and new product development efforts. Hardy joined Optum in 2010, previously serving as chief operating officer of OptumInsight, driving business performance across software, data and analytics, consulting and managed services. He also served as chief operating officer of Optum International and senior vice president of corporate strategy.
Prior to joining Optum, Hardy gained over fifteen years of strategy consulting and general management experience advising information and technology businesses. This includes roles as senior vice president of Infogroup; senior director, Corporate Strategy at The Thomson Corporation; and management consultant with Diamond Technology Partners (now PwC), with a focus on building business strategies across the technology, manufacturing, consumer products and distribution markets. Hardy began his career as a program engineer in Hewlett-Packard’s consumer products group.
Hardy holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
