Heather Cianfrocco
Chief Executive Officer, Optum
Heather Cianfrocco was named CEO of Optum in March 2024. She is responsible for the strategic direction and overall performance of Optum’s three business segments – Optum Health, Optum Rx and Optum Insight – as well as the execution of our long-term growth objectives, including value-based care and the integration of medical, behavioral, pharmacy and technology-enabled services.
Heather is the executive sponsor of the LGBTQ+ employee resource group at UnitedHealth Group and is a member of the Women’s Leader Advisory Council.
Heather previously served as Optum’s president and has held numerous leadership roles since joining UnitedHealth Group in 2008, including serving as CEO of Optum Rx, CEO for Optum’s Health Services and CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community & State. Prior to UnitedHealth Group, Heather worked in private legal practices where she concentrated on corporate and securities law, representing health care entities in mergers and acquisitions. She earned a master’s degree in health care delivery science from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law.
