Sometimes the biggest leap in life is just moving forward. And at Summer Tanam, in partnership with Optum, moving forward means one thing, building skills at every level.
For Archa, that starts in the classroom where she teaches children with disabilities and watches her own son grow in the same system.
Hi, myself Archa, a certified special educator and a special needs parent as well. I'm working as a special educator in Samaranam ID school where my son is also a student in vocational training unit. He's 23 years old. His name is Likit Ready. We were in search of a good school for him to be trained in vocational skills.
Likit went from spending his days mostly at home to a space that builds him up every day. Compared to earlier he has learned so many life skills and vocational skills. Here he's been completely engaged in all activities. So today I am very happy to share that my boy is shiny.
And while children like Likit build their skills inside Samar Tanam's centers through Optum's support, many adults like Usha receive the same support outside.
Then came one small shift that changed everything. A retrofitted two-wheeler.
Today is a very special day and I'm talking to you from Samartanam Trust. It's the International Day for People with Disabilities. We spent the morning here giving away 50 scooters, 50 locomotive devices. But I think more importantly to me it was really about experiencing the strength, the resilience and the absolute desire to actually break out of disability and live a life with inclusion with the assistance that people like Optum and Samartum provide.
Very touched by some of the people I heard spoke to and I'm so glad we have an opportunity to make a small difference to make all of them more independent, more self‑reliant and contributing to society and realizing their potential. It was heartwhelming to meet all the people in person.

I'm very proud of the partnership of Optum, primarily your support providing digital and non-digital assisted devices, helping us to organize conferences and conclaves and also helping our vocational training programs.
