Amit Vaish

Amit brings over 25 years of human resource leadership experience in diverse industry contexts in India and the Asia Pacific region. In his current role with Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, he has overall responsibility for partnering with leadership teams to grow and lead the India operations from a human capital standpoint. 

As a member of the India leadership team, he is also responsible for supporting the overall transformation of the operations, technology and shared services entities in India. 

Prior to Optum, Amit spent close to 16 years in HR leadership roles with Accenture and then Barclays, supporting their growth journeys in India and other emerging markets in the APAC region. 

Earlier in his career, Amit spent a few years in HR consulting with global majors like Arthur Andersen and EY, where he partnered with a wide range of clients on large-scale business and HR transformation programs in India, Middle East and Africa.

A seasoned and passionate HR leader and certified executive coach from the Coaching Foundation India Limited (CFI), Amit has consistently advanced the talent agenda to position HR as a strategic business partner across his varied career experiences. He has led the journey for his global organizations to build recognized employer brands in India. 

Amit holds an MBA in human resources from XLRI, Jamshedpur and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. He is also a global fellow of talent management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
